Nobody enjoys clogged drains, but these issues are recurring. As we make total usage of our drains, it is equally important to clean them repeatedly. Here are five ways to unclog a drain. Repeating these steps will help you get rid of this problem in the long run.
- Baking Soda and Vinegar.
These so-called miracle ingredients pop in every hack list. Although I don’t believe them putting on my face or hair, drains are a different story—Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with the same volume of vinegar. Pour the solution into the clogged area, chase it down with four cups of boiling water to loosen the debris.
- Salt and Water
Sometimes, the drain can work particularly slow due to the soap build-up inside. Pour 1/2 cup of salt, which works as a scrub to clean the pipes. For 10 seconds, turn on the hot water tap. - Dishwashing liquid
The idea is much similar to using salt. Dump generous pumps of dishwashing liquid(any) down the drain followed by a stream of hot water. - Plunger
Instead of calling a plumber and fixing the pipes. You can buy a plunger and get on cracking. This is one of the easiest and quickest ways to unclog your drain. - Live EnzymesLast but not least, grab a bottle of a live enzyme. This solution can be repeated a few times a month, so you won’t ever have to deal with clogged drains.
