Wild animals belong to the wild. These beautiful creatures are built for such a lifestyle, however, some people don’t seem to understand that. Many of them hunt and slaughter wild creatures for fun, while some of them capture and use them for entertainment. Keeping wild animals as house pets has become quite common nowadays. From moguls in the Middle East to even celebrities – they try to raise their status by keeping wild animals in their home.
The poor leopard featured in the video below was one of the many creatures that got affected because of this horrible “trend”. This leopard was bought by a couple as a private pet when he was only three months old. They wanted him to be the companion to their two Rottweiler dogs. However, even after declawing him, he was too rough to handle. So Voodo was brought to Cedar Cover. He was only five months old at the time. Voodo was 13 by the time 2013 came along.
In the sanctuary, Voodoo gets all the love and attention in the world. This clip shows him with one of his handlers. As you can see, he loves getting scratched and stroked.
