The following video shares an adorable duet that is no doubt going to warm your heart. This dad decided to sing alongside his five year old daughter one day. Together they performed “True Colors”. What he ended up capturing has made the internet fall in love. Everyone loves the original version of the classic, but this duo did a fantastic job. Originally written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, it was recorded by the incredible Cyndi Lauper.
The song went on to be a huge hit and ended up topping charts all over the world. It was both the title track and the first single released from Lauper’s second album. It was the only original song on the album that Lauper did not help write. “True Colors” spent two weeks in the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and was the last single from Lauper to occupy the top of the chart. It received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
The little girl might be a bit small to fully grasp the meaning behind the words, but she did it complete justice.
