Every year, we witness the achievements of young performers in variant backgrounds. Russia has continuously discovered new talents for as long as we know. Veronika Zhilina could be one of the youngest and most gifted ones from Russia so far.
The performance below is recorded when she was either ten or eleven. During a junior skating completion, Veronika joins the stage. She looks a little nervous at the very beginning, but very soon, she channels all her emotions to focus on the performance.

The song she chose is one of the classic “Hallelujah,” original by Leonard Cohen, but her routine version is by Alexandra Berk. Initially, she points the orb of light to the audience. The dark background is then filled with moving lights; this is when she starts her graceful dance routine. She executes a perfect quadruple Salchow. This makes her the youngest skater to accomplish a difficult jump.
Furthermore, her new practice routine has had pundits talking about her. In the training video posted by her proud coach, Plushenko, we witnessed her new jumping skills. She can execute several jumps, walking her in her renowned predecessors’ footsteps. Zhilina still has a long way to go and polish her skills. Even the famous quad jumpers now look obscure in her remarkable progress.
