Elephants are one of the most incredible animals on this planet. They are kind, sympathetic, intelligent – the list goes on. I am sure all of you have heard the old saying “an elephant never forgets”. If you had any doubt over that statement, this video is going to curb it all!
Charlie Franks and his wife Madeline adopted Sunita when back in 1995. This beautiful Asian elephant was only 5 years old at that time. They lovingly called her Nita and she was their “only child”. Charlie started training her, he brought her to parades, TV shows, and other events as well. Many circus animals are abused and mistreated nowadays, but Nita received nothing but love from her family.
But as times changed and Charlie grew older, he decided to give his daughter a better home. He donated her to the Wild Animal Park in San Diego, CA., since she was unable to return to the wild. In the following clip, Charlie visits Nita in the park after 15 long years. He was 80 at the time. He knew he had relatively fewer days to live, so he didn’t want to leave without a farewell to his only child.
