When you are eating out at a restaurant how much do you tip your server? This video shows the rage of a server when it comes to tipping.
A customer came to the restaurant and showered this server with praise. The server was expecting to get more than she received. But to a $100 bill, the server only got tipped $10. “I would so much rather you stand up from your table and smack me across the mouth and say, ‘you are ugly, you are stupid, this was the worst service I have ever had, and then leave me $10 on $100,” Emma, the server said.
“I would so much rather that and respect it because you looked me in the eyes like a person, and you stood up to me. “But no, if you actively tell me, ‘you did a great job, and then you tip me 10 percent [I] want to fight you out back.”Many viewers understood the waiter’s point of view, with one person commenting: “Less than 20 percent is unacceptable in 2022. Respect your service workers.
“The good old verbal tip,” said a frustrated commenter. Emma continued by saying she wished the customers ‘smacked me around the mouth’ if they were only going to leave a 10 percent tip.
Although state minimum cash wages and combined salary rates differ, some viewers noted in the video comments that customers’ tips are also divided between the front and back of the house.
She states:”I would so much rather that and respect it because you looked me in the eyes like a person, and you stood up to me. “But no, if you actively tell me, ‘you did a great job’, and then you tip me 10 percent [I] want to fight you out back.”
Agreeing with her comment, a commentor replied: ‘The good old verbal tip. And that 10 percent gets divided by the bar and the busboy and sometimes the host.. yeah thanks also making 2.65 an hour’
After multiple comments, the video is no longer available on tiktok.
