When 34 year Wagner Lima from Paraiba, Brazil died in a motorcycle accident on New Year 2017, many people found it hard to cope. Since Lima was well-loved in his community, his tragic death was not easy on anyone. However, the one who was most affected by his passing was probably his beloved horse, Sereno. Wagner’s brother, Wando, says, “This horse was everything to him. It was as if the horse knew what was happening and wanted to say goodbye.”
When the vehicle carrying Lima’s casket arrived at the gathering, the horse somehow seemed to know his best friend was inside it. Sereno approached the coffin and smelled around it. Then he moved everyone’s heart as he laid his head on top. Witnesses say they saw him whimper during the procession to the cemetery.
