Losing a loved one is the most challenging thing that can happen in life. But for this family, it was so unexpected. Dakota and Ream Nelson were working in the garage when the mother of seven collapsed suddenly. They were able to get her to the hospital, but because her brain was deprived of oxygen for so long, there was little chance of survival.
Three months passed, and through all this, Dakota and the kids didn’t lose hope. But one evening 38-year-old Ream left this world, leaving Dakota all alone to raise his children ages 1 to 16. And even though he was working three part-time jobs, money was tight. Not to mention that the first Christmas without his wife was right around the corner.
Luckily, a Secret Santa from Idaho was aware of Dakota’s story. And the anonymous philanthropist sent out a gift to the East Idaho man through a local news team. The team goes to Dakota’s place and catch him just after school ends.
They recount his story and you can see the fact that he is still struggling. But the presenter gives his kids a gift box that has $1000 gift cards to Walmart and a local store each. Furthermore, the host then hands Dakota and check of $8000, and he cannot hold back tears. Overwhelmed by generosity, the father even asks who he can thank. But the kind patron wants to remain anonymous, and he hugs the host instead.
