Every era of time has its own defining characteristics, including cultural characteristics like music and dance. For instance, rock n roll was really big back in the 60s. Over the years, we’ve seen everything from twist, tap, hip hop and freestyle dances take the spotlight. The following video shows an incredible dance, and it is certainly a blast from the past.
Swing dance was all the rage in the 1920s and 1950s. It was the go–to dance of the time, and people everywhere were captivated by its infectious rhythms. At parties and performance venues, it was the style of choice for dazzling crowds.
This dance form has recently gained a surge of popularity among the youth, with it becoming a fashionable trend. It‘s become a cultural phenomenon, even if it is a niche group. Younger generations have embraced this dance form and continue to enjoy it.
While it’s not exactly routine to see people swing dancing at parties these days, there are enthusiasts and groups that not only keep it alive but promote it at every opportunity. This clip was recorded in a festival named “Rock That Swing” in Munich, Germany. This fest was held for five days, and there was non-stop music; ten live bands were invited so that dancers could enjoy themselves any time they wanted. And these people surely enjoyed it to the fullest!
These two, Stephen and Chandrae, definitely set the floor on fire with their wicked moves! And who knows, maybe swing dance will make a comeback soon!
