Christmas is not only about gifts and decorations and parties; it is also about good music. Classical songs are played more often in Christmas than any other time of the year. Pachelbel’s Canon (Canon in D) is one of the most renowned and one of the most celebrated piece of all time. This canon was composed by German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel. The date and the circumstances of this masterpiece are unknown. The oldest surviving manuscript copy of the piece dates from the 19th century.
I have always been a big fan and I have always wondered if anyone could do it complete justice. As this video shows, they can. This mind-blowing performance by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra along with an amazing children choir is breathtakingly beautiful. You are going to get goosebumps when you hear this rendition!
