Phantom of the Opera is a classic and the longest-running Broadway show, period. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning show was first launched in October 1986, earning three Oliviers and seven Tonys along the way. Sadly it has finally closed in 2023 after an unbelievable run of over three decades.
A few years ago, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the show, Nicole Scherzinger sang its famous theme song at the annual Royal Variety Performance in Manchester. The lead singer of the group “The Pussycat Dolls,” joined on stage four of the most popular. Earl Carpenter, Simon Bowman, John Owen-Jones, and Ramin Karimloo, all of whom have played the Phantom in various productions of the musical, sang with the beautiful singer.
The musical itself is a thrill and the pop star’s performance gave a shine to its gold. Scherzinger left the crowd stunned with her enchanting and powerful voice. The singer was wearing a beautiful white gown with sparkling gems. Everyone who witnessed this piece knew they were watching history in the making.
The four Phantoms surrounds Christine, the protagonist of the show, while a thick mist was swirling at their feet. The stage burned with intense energy as the five characters sang their hearts out.
