In a recent Instagram post, Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox shared the news of his 12-year-old Great Dane-Labrador’s along with a picture of the two of them and the caption, “Gus — great dog and loyal friend, we’ll miss you.”
Tha actor has been battling through Parkinson’s disease. In the truest sense of the word, Gus was a support animal. After spinal surgery, he had returned to the hospital in a wheelchair. When he got to the door, Gus was waiting. “He kind of circles the wheelchair, with this low kind of woof woof, woof woof, and sat in front of the wheelchair right in front of me, and looked at me, and I said, ‘It’s gonna be okay.'”
Actor Christopher Lloyd, who starred in the hit movie “Back to the Future,” says that his role helped to put mortality and age into perspective for him. I still remember how energetic and exuberant he was when he appeared on TV with Fox.
When he was walking his dog in Central Park, passers-by would stop him to talk, but not because of Michael J. Fox’s public identity. He was the center of attention. And really, who hasn’t done this at least once in their life? Watch his touching interview down below:
