Here’s a little different take on the street performance. At a recent musician’s trade show, performer Guitaro5000 asked for singing volunteers from the audience. When Micah Christian stepped up, people quickly realized it was something special.
Unbeknownst to Guitaro5000 (real name Reginald Guilluame), Micah and his group Sons of Serendip had made it to the finals of America’s Got Talent Season 9. But even if the crowd doesn’t know that either, when Micah starts Sam Cooke’s, “A Change is Gonna Come,” everyone knows its a top-notch performance.
Guitaro5000 also has an interesting backstory: he travels around the U.S. putting on street shows where he invites random people in the audience to perform with him. He calls it, “Sing With Me,” and he says the purpose is “to create a way for people to experience a sense of happiness and freedom they did not feel before.”
