I’m sure most of us know the benefits of social distancing during these times of pandemic by now. However, certain populations need to be more careful than others. This includes children, the elderly, and people who are immunocompromised. So, this elderly man helping out his vulnerable neighbor means so much right now!
Although we don’t know all the facts about the novel Corona Virus, some things have proven to prevent the spread. Moreover, exposing yourself to people as little as possible and not touching surfaces are effective. But certain things can’t be avoided. You need to take out the garbage to keep your home sanitary. However, this can be very risky for people who have weak immune systems due to illnesses like cancer. So, this particular neighbor decided to lend a helping hand.
Every Monday, Bill equips himself with gloves and a decontaminant spray. He then goes to his neighbor’s house and sprays their garbage bin lid clean. Moreover, Bill falls under the group of people vulnerable from COVID-19 because of his age. Since the bins come in constant contact with collectors who come long distances, it is risky for the older man. But he knows that it is more dangerous for his neighbor who is fighting Leukemia.
