Parrot videos proliferate on the internet and we’ve posted quite a few of them here. But this video is so wholesome and fun that we think it will just make you feel good inside–and that’s a very good thing.
We talk about parrots as if they were a single bird but there are actually 398 known species of parrot in 92 different genera. They are a tropical/sub-tropical bird and one-third of them are actually endangered–they have a higher aggregate extinction risk than another comparable bird group.
Parrots have been around for a long time and there’s even evidence they originated as much as 59 million years ago (although the first uncontroverted evidence is from 50 million years ago–still!)
In this video we meet Kiwi, a trained blue parrot that obviously has a great rapport with her owner. She tells the owner she’s cute and says, “Oh my goodness!” as if she’s a human.
But the best part of this video is the kisses–Kiwi showers her mom with kisses and it’s one of the cutest things you’ve ever seen. You can’t help but simply fall in love with the bird.
