The pressure over having kids can be considerable and there are some stressful moments during any pregnancy. An ultrasound is likely to be one: you can find out the baby’s sex and sometimes discover some complications. Well here’s an ultrasound that discovers something completely unexpected and yields a heartwarming result.
Women giving birth to twins and triplets is a relatively rare occurrence, with only about 3 sets of multiples born for every 1,000 births. This means that only 1 in every 333 births produces a set of twins or triplets. While the rate of multiple births has increased over the past two decades, due to the use of fertility treatments, it is still relatively uncommon. In the U.S., the twinning rate is currently 33.3 per 1,000 births, which is the highest rate on record. Triplet births occur much less often, with a rate of about 1 in 8,000 births.
