A patient transporter’s job is as straightforward as it sounds. They wheel patients around the hospital to the rooms they require. Lindon Beckford has been working as a transporter at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre in Boston for more than 30 years. Moreover, he is a brilliant singer. So, combining his talent, and his love of making patients smile, he has made quite a name for himself in the hospital!
Research has proven that music can have a positive effect on people. Moreover, it can drastically reduce anxiety and pain! So, while transporting sick and vulnerable people, Beckford hums a little tune so that it eases their mind. He had a realization that patients when he was transferring someone, and they began to harmonize with him.
