According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), on an average day, there are an estimated 580,466 homeless people in the United States. This includes people who were staying in emergency shelters, transitional housing programs, or places not meant for human habitation such as streets or parks. Here’s a video about one of them that has what you would definitely call a “better than average” day, all thanks to a Good Samaritan
When the Good Samaritan, whose real name is Peter Bond, asks how his day is going, the homeless man answers, “Not very good. I’ve been out here since five o’clock this morning, I’m hot, I’m tired…” In response to Peter’s question if he could do anything for him, he asks Peter if he would buy him a tall bottle of water and something to eat.
Instead, Peter hands him a package and runs off. This is typical for Peter, who has a YouTube channel where he records videos of himself going around and helping others. “I run around giving hope.. and notes. My job is to inspire,” he says. Inside the package is a note of inspiration and a wad of cash.
From the homeless man’s reaction, it’s clear Peter has definitely given him happiness. The man whoops, jumps up in the air, starts dancing and runs around the fountain. He can’t believe it. This is just so heartwarming I had to share it. Watch the short video below and please leave us a Facebook comment to let us know what you thought!
