You must be familiar with the hymn “How Great Thou Art”. The song has been hailed as the second most popular hymn of all time after “Amazing Grace”. It is based on a traditional Swedish melody and poem by Carl Gustav Boberg. It was later translated to English and Russian, after which it finally became a hymn. The song has been covered by hundreds of artists over the years, from Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Roy Rogers, and Carrie Underwood.
In this video, Home Free has performed its own spin on the classic hymn. The a cappella group were the winners of NBC’s The Sing Off. Initially, they covered songs of all genres, but as their career progressed, they decided to settle with a very country sound. They have put out other stunning covers, including “Mom” by Garth Brooks and “Amazing Grace”. But this particular cover is especially amazing for both the eyes and the ears!
The video has been set in a picturesque country setting. Their voices are so good individually, but when put together, they just take it to another level. You might have heard many covers of this classic song, yet this particular one really stands out from the rest!
