Walter Macfarlane and Alan Robinson have been friends for 60 years, since grade school, but said their friendship really became solid when they both played football in high school in Hawaii. They also played softball together when they both worked for Aloha Airlines, a Hawaii-based commercial carrier that had teams in the sports league.
They used to go sailing together and Walter was in Alan’s wedding. They lived less than ten miles apart for most of their lives and each considered the other one of his good friends. But that all changed when Alan’s kids bought him a DNA-testing kit.
Neither man knew his parents: one was adopted by another couple at birth and one grew up with his grandmother, who never told him about his actual father. But Walter’s daughter told him he should check into his biological parents an even bought him the DNA test kit.
The next to last thing he could have ever imagined was finding out he had a brother. The LAST thing he could have imagined was that it would be his best friend! Watch the full video below and please leave us a Facebook comment to let us know what you thought!
