Dogs are one of the most loyal creatures in the world. If you’ve ever had a dog, I’m sure you know well how they always stick by your side. Especially when you are not having a great day, but this German Shephard by the name of Heidi takes the cake! After all, she swam for 11 hours to save her owner.
It was a fair-weathered day. So, Heidi’s 63-year-old owner had taken out his boat to Moreton Bay, Australia, on February 19, 2020. But tragedy struck! Because there was no fuel in the boat, it began sinking. That’s when Heidi swam to find any help she could. Luckily, a fisherman spotted the dog in the waters!
After seeing a frantic Heidi all alone, the man had a gut feeling that something was wrong. So, he called local authorities. And Heidi was taken to a vet for a checkup. Furthermore, a search and rescue operation was held, and Heidi’s owner was found clinging on to the tipped boat. Luckily, both Heidi and her owner were safe and sound with no severe injuries.
