Although Easter Sunday has its roots in religion, nowadays, it’s just as much about family visits, delicious food, and let’s not forget— Easter eggs! Moreover, children love decorating and hunting for the eggs that the Easter bunny left behind.
The tradition of decorating eggs goes back so far that no one is sure when it started–ancient civilizations certainly did it since eggs have been a symbol of life for centuries and their decoration is a form of celebration. The tradition of hiding eggs, however, appears to date back to the Middle Ages, when Catholicism was dominant around the world and eggs were often hidden by parents for children to find as a way of commemorating the end of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting and abstinence leading up to Easter.
Well here’s a family hid one of the eggs so well, that they only found it after nine whole years! Admit it, sometimes you forget something for a few days in the fridge, and the only thing that reminds you to take it out is the foul stench. Well, imagine that, for almost a decade! In actuality, the family came into this situation when they were checking out some old furniture that was in storage. Moreover, they discovered the egg only after pulling a couch cushion!
The 9-year-old pastel blue egg oddly looks normal from the outside. But after a quick shake, the man behind the camera informs us that the inside has turned into a rubber ball! However, the terrifying part starts when they decide to break it. Going further, the man positions a knife and hits it in one sharp move. And the screams of horror begin!
