According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters in the United States each year, and of those, about 670,000 are euthanized. Well here’s a heartwarming and hilarious story of a little rescue who avoided that fate and whose bark–no kidding–sounds like a duck.
Meet Pipsqueak, a 1.8-pound bundle of hair who was rescued for what her new owners thought would only be a few months left in her life. They cleaned her up and helped her back on her feet, then discovered her voice sounded more like “quack” than “ruff”!
But as often happens, the new owners lives were changed by Pip just as much as hers was by them. They began a journey of dog rescue that is truly wonderful to watch. After EIGHT years, Pip is still alive and they call their home “a dog house that just happens to have two people in it.”
