Country music always makes me think of Dolly Parton. She is one of the greatest influences in this genre and we see her amazing collections, we can see why. So you can imagine my enthusiasm when I saw her collaborate with her fellow country greats, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. This is one for the books…what an amazing song by three amazing women!
The three of them performed “The Sweetest Gift (A Mother’s Smile)” together. This song is about a mother whose son is in jail and though she can’t get him out, she visits him and she never fails to give him a smile to make things a bit better for her son. The message it shares about a mother’s love is beautiful and it is moving indeed. I’m going to remember this for a long time!
