Ice cream, a beloved frozen dessert enjoyed by people around the world, has a rich and fascinating history that dates back centuries. The origins of ice cream can be traced to ancient civilizations. It is believed that the Chinese were the first to create a frozen treat resembling ice cream, as early as 200 BCE. They would mix milk, rice, and snow, creating a creamy concoction.
The concept of ice cream eventually spread to other parts of the world. In the 13th century, Marco Polo is said to have encountered a version of ice cream during his travels in China and brought the idea back to Europe. However, it was not until the Renaissance period in the 16th century that ice cream began to gain popularity among the European aristocracy.
Over the centuries it kept gaining popularity until, in the 19th century, the invention of refrigeration techniques and the introduction of mechanical ice cream makers enabled mass production, making ice cream more accessible to the general public.
Today you can make your own ice-cream with only a few ingredients and the freezer section of your fridge. For a fantastic coffee ice-cream, you will need:
600ml of Whipping Cream
200g of Sweetened Condensed Milk (about 1/2 a can)
2-3 Tablespoons of Instant Coffee Powder
2 Tablespoons of Water
