Christmas is about family and friends. During the holidays, we should take the time to appreciate the people who support us every day. However, not all the people we love are with us. Unfortunately, illness or tragedy might have taken them away from us.
With this sentiment, one of the best-selling musicians of all time, Neil Diamond, wrote “Christmas Prayer.” And it is touching. The American singer-songwriter released this song in his new holiday album “Acoustic Christmas.” He also made a Christmas themed music video to go along with an incredible live performance of the song.
Neil and his band feature in it, performing in a decorated recording studio. But it is the pictures of family that he shows in the beginning, that reflects how meaningful this song is to him. In his heartbreaking original, he pays tribute to the loved ones who are no longer with us. Furthermore, he has poured his emotions in this song, singing, “I see you standing there, smiling down on me.” Watch the video below and please leave us a Facebook comment to let us know what you thought!
