Once winter is over, I sometimes find it hard to get motivated to use the oven. When it’s warm outside, why add to the heat by baking? Unfortunately, I’ve had a hard time finding good oven-free recipes, especially for desserts.
This recipe is the solution to my problem. You don’t even need an oven or mixer to make this gooey, melty, moist chocolate cake of your dreams. Don’t worry if you only eat eggs once in a while. In this recipe, there’s no need for any of those ingredients. Despite this, it manages to produce the perfect cake every time.
For this recipe, you will need:
For the cake:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 tbl cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp vanilla powder (optional)
- 5/8 cup sugar
- ~1 cup milk (or 220ml)
- Just under 1/4 cup cooking oil (or 50ml)
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
For the chocolate drizzle:
- 5 oz. of dark chocolate
- ~1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp butter
