Halloween costumes trace back to the Celtic festival of Samhain, where participants would disguise themselves to ward off wandering spirits. Over time, as the celebration merged with Christian traditions and evolved, the practice of dressing up continued. In the 19th century,
Halloween costumes became more common in Scotland and Ireland, and the tradition was carried to North America by immigrants. Initially, costumes were homemade, but by the early 20th century, the commercialization of Halloween led to the mass production of costumes, expanding the variety and creativity in Halloween attire. Today, dressing up for Halloween is a cherished tradition, with costumes ranging from spooky and scary to humorous and whimsical.
But even as popular as costumes are, whoever thought of this cat costume deserves a prize. This is about the greatest pet costume I’ve ever seen. Here’s a cat named Zeon who’s apparently a big fan of Disney’s blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise because he’s dressed up like it’s main character, Jack Sparrow! This clip is absolutely too cute.
