Nothing is purer than a mother’s love. A mother can go to any lengths for her child’s wellbeing. However, sometimes a mother’s love can be misunderstood. Blame the human anatomy or the society’s mindset when mothers like the one featured below are shamed for breastfeeding in public.
Misty Daugereaux was at Nessler Park Family Aquatic Center in Texas City, Texas with her sons and nephew. As Misty begins to breastfeed her 10-month-old son, a lifeguard asks her to cover up or leave. Subsequently, she fights back, “Well, you show me in your policy where I need to cover up and I’ll leave”.
The manager of the pool claims that Misty exposed both her breasts while breastfeeding. Moreover, the lifeguard blames her for using cuss words.
Eventually, the Texas City police issued an apology to the 32-year-old mother for offending her. Even a ‘nurse-in’ was performed to stand up for Misty and all other mothers who were humiliated for breastfeeding.
