Gatherings call for a wholesome dish that touches the sweet spot of being healthy and tasty. Casseroles are a big hit at dinner parties. There is plenty to go around. Moreover, baking one item on the menu can help the host work on other dishes in the meantime.
The Casserole
- 2.2 pounds broccoli
- One teaspoon of salt
- One tablespoon of milk (powdered)
- One red pepper
- Three long green peppers
- One onion
- Three tablespoons of olive oil
First of all, remove the stem of the broccoli. Then, on the gas, put on a pan filled with enough water to submerge the broccoli. Next, add salt and milk, then the vegetable, and boil for 7-8 minutes.
In a non-stick pan, saute the remaining vegetables until they are tender to bite. Coat baking or a glass tray with cooking oil. Then add all your veggies in. Mix until everything is combined correctly. Now set it aside, and let’s get on the sauce.
The Sauce
- Three eggs
- 2 cups of milk
- Five tablespoons of olive oil
- Four tablespoons multi-purpose wheat flour
- One teaspoon of salt
- Two teaspoons baking powder
- One tablespoon of dill
Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl or large graduated cup. Gradually add in rest of the ingredients. Once the sauce is ready, pour into the vegetable tray. Remember to coat the veggies thoroughly with the sauce. Top it off with some grated cheese, then pop it in the oven for 25 minutes at 392 degrees Fahrenheit. Just like that, you have a healthy and tasty tray of vegetable casserole.
