We lost country megastar George Jones on April 26, 2013. It was a great loss, not only for the music industry, but the whole world. In the days following his death, the country music community got together at the Grand Ole Opry to say goodbye to him. It was a night to honor the beautiful artist we had lost; many people ended up in tears.
One of the most memorable moments of the night was when Alan Jackson came onstage to sing a classic from George himself. He sang “He Stopped Loving Her Today” at Jones’ funeral and left everyone completely out of words. It’s been three years since then, but this performance can still bring tears to thousands of people.
