The universe works in mysterious ways. They say that good things happen to good people. Sometimes, it doesn’t work that way, but most of the time it does. When the world is steeped in so much turmoil and conflict, it’s always nice to hear some happy stories. For every bad person in the world, there are many other good people that restore your faith in humanity. And little Addie’s story is one that will definitely warm your heart.
When Addie was born, she had very deformed legs. This was because of Larsen Syndrome. She was born in the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, and she had to spend a lot of time there to get her legs in a better condition. The doctors had to put a total of 60 to 70 casts on her legs to set them straight. Her treatment was successful, and she was up and walking as she grew up.
When she was about to turn 8 years old, she decided to do something good for the hospital. She stood on a street corner holding a sign that said she wanted to raise $8000 for the hospital. But she was overwhelmed by the positive response. She managed to raise around $19,000 on her own, which was double what she had aimed for. If that wasn’t enough, an anonymous donor sent a $50,000 check to the hospital in her name!
A small initiative on her part worked a miracle for the hospital! What an inspirational story!
