The “Got Talent” shows often showcase young talent, but here’s one that’s a little different. Simon stops her less than 30 seconds in–and that’s when the real performance starts.
11-year-old Ansley Burns is spunky and appears to have fun bantering with the judges before her audition. She appears to be confident when she launches into Aretha Franklin’s “Think,” but after a short time judge Simon Cowell stops the performance and tells her that, because of what he calls a bad background track, “that was terrible.”
Normally, those words from Simon would end a performer’s journey immediately. But Simon had other plans.
First, he asks her to sing a cappella so that there’s no interference from the background. When she’s clearly flustered, he suggests she get some water and even gives her his own cup (that he says he hasn’t touched) to take a sip. Finally, Ansley is ready to sing and, to a beat and a tune only in her head, she starts again.
What happens next is a heartwarming solo that leaves Ansley, her mother and much of the audience in tears. You won’t want to miss this one. Watch the full video below and please leave us a Facebook comment to let us know what you thought!
